"PPF" Born in 2011!

One of the greatest honors that can be bestowed upon anyone is to have someone name their child after you. It’s a testimony to the personal impact one has had on the lives of the parents.

Persecution Project Foundation has just been so honored in the naming of a newborn “PPF”!

Don’t worry. Unlike some modern day marketing stunt, no one has named their child “PPF”. Instead, a newborn calf is the proud recipient of our organization’s name. And we couldn’t be more proud.

The newborn calf, "PPF".

Over the last two years, PPF has delivered tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of medicines and medical supplies to a school and clinic located in the Kibera slum of Nairobi. The facility was founded by Pastor Chris Okumu, and has blessed thousands of some of the poorest people in Kenya.

While PPF does not normally purchase livestock, we made an exception in April, 2009, when we partnered with HERO Foundation to purchase a cow for Soweto Academy. Many of the students receive their only meal of the day at the school, so Pastor Chris was excited about the possibility of offering fresh milk to the children.

PPF donated this cow to Soweto Academy in 2009.

We received the following message from Pastor Chris on January 5th, 2011.

Dear Persecution Project,

On behalf of the Soweto Academy, and the Revival Home-Based Care Clinic at Kibera, I would like to thank you very much for the efforts you made to bring medicine worth thousands of dollars to Kibera residents, and the cow you donated has given birth to a male calf. We call it PPF! The children at Soweto can drink milk, praise the Lord! We do hope that the next calf can be a she-calf, so that we can also donate it to another project somewhere.

We love you big. Thank you very much.

Chris Okumu

Pastor Chris

Updates like this from the field make us smile. The fact that Chris wants to bless another ministry with a female calf makes us even happier. Please pray with us for Pastor Chris and his continued work in Kibera.
